SimpliFi Interview? About Facility: o 492 Beds o 2105 E. South Blvd., Montgomery, AL 36116 o Level I Trauma Center o Level III NICU o Primary Stroke Center · First-time traveler: Will accept a first-time traveler. Minimum of 18 months experience in MedSurg and/or ICU with EPIC or Cerner experience required. If strictly ICU experience, Cerner is required. ? Staff has to be gone for 6 months before returning as a traveler. From last shift worked to start date o Will be assigned a home unit on the first day of orientation. o Patient Ratios: 1:4-6 ? Typically, 1:4 ratio. With the lower ratio, the expectation is for RNs are to turn patients, assist with baths, ADLs, etc. ? Expectation that quality of care is high with the lower patient load. 6 North Trauma Surgical o Beds: 23 o Patient Types: General Surgery and Vascular surgeries o Skills required: At least 1 year of trauma/surgical experience. Wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, medication administration/documentation and escalations 5 South Neuroscience o Beds: 33 o Patient Types: CVA, TBI, Seizure, AMS, Spinal Fusion, Craniotomy, Degenerative Diseases, post trauma, angiogram o Skills required: IV start, blood draws from central lines, trach care, PEG, NGT, Colostomy/Ostomy, Wound Care, Chest tube, Surgical Site Care, C-Collar, Abdominal Binders, Restraints 5 North MedSurg/Oncology: chemo experience highly preferred but not required o Beds: 39, 2 Charge RNs (no patient assignment). o Patient Types: All patient types except stroke and MI, palliative care, ETOH withdrawal. MS/Oncology patients. High acuity and fast paced MedSurg. o 1:4-5 for RN and LPNs. o Skills required: Trach care, chest tubes, PEG tubes, wound care, drains, foleys, IV starts; Chemo administration, if certified. o Tele monitoring on hallway monitors and by tele techs on ground floor 3 South Orthopedics o Beds: 20 o Patient Types: Orthopedic and spine: Joint replacements, fractures, fusions, laminectomies, etc. o Skills required: PCA pumps, wound care (negative pressure dressing), dressing changes, foley, drains (hemovacs/JP drains) 3 North MS/Ortho/Urology o Beds: 23 o Patient Types: Urology, ENT, ortho, MedSurg o Skills Required: Trach, wound care, wound vacs, IV starts, CVL dressing changes, follow nurse-driven foley protocol. ? Required Certifications: o BLS, NIHSS ? Support on the Unit: o CNA (Ratio): 1:10-12- VS, ADLs, glucose checks when available o Receptionist/HUC? Yes o Charge nurse? Yes, rarely takes assignment. o Phlebotomy? Yes o IV/VAT Team? Yes o Hospitalist? Yes o Telemetry monitoring tech? Are RNs required to read/measure tele strips? Yes, telemetry is monitored by Telemetry Techs, RNs are required to interpret and confirm q4 hours strip reading ? Technology/Equipment: o EMR: Cerner, will consider EPIC experience. o IV pumps: Plum 360 o Medication dispensing: Omnicell o Monitors: Spacelabs ? Floating: If yes, where? o Any like unit/patient location (MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds) ? Orientation: o Travelers who are new to the facility or return travelers who have been gone for 1+ years will have 24 hours of classroom time and 24 hours on the unit o Rehires: orientation will depend on last date here ? Scheduling: o Weekend rotation: Every other or 4 weekend days per month o On call? If so, what is that schedule? No o Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy o Holiday Expectations: This does not mean they will automatically be scheduled for those dates, but we will not contractually guarantee to being off prior to arrival. o Baptist Blackout 2026 RTO dates: ? Martin Luther King Jr. Day: 1/19-20 ? Valentine’s Day (week): 2/13 -16 ? Entire month of March ? Easter Weekend: 4/18 – 20 ? Mother’s Day Weekend, 5/10-12 ? Memorial Day (week): 5/24 – 5/26 ? Father’s Day Weekend 6/14-16 ? Fourth of July 7/3-6 ? Labor Day weekend: 8/30-9/1 ? Halloween: 10/30-11/2 ? Thanksgiving: 11/26-30 ? Christmas and New Year’s: 12/21-1/1 o Approval of time off? Can we approve up to 7 days off on your behalf? Yes, excluding provided blackout dates, NM/Eanh approval for Blackout dates. o Shift times: 7a-7p, 7p-7a o Schedule cycle: 4-week cycle period; no self-scheduling – utilize smart square ?
